Transparency Plane is also useful to change the
color of lines. The procedure is, first change the white part to
transparent so that color can be put only onto the lines.
We will use this image as the sample. |

Add a Transparency Plane.
Click [Image] button in L-Panel and
click [Add and Delete Planes...]. |
| |
In [Add and Delete] panel, add Transparency Plane.
The made Plane is named [Transparency1]. |
| |
This is the Transparency Plane of this image. |

Click [Edit] - [Copy between
Channel] from the top menu to open this window. Set [Origin]
to [Brightness] and [Destination] to [Transparency] and click
[OK].
This work is to copy the brightness information of the original
image to Transparency so that white part becomes transparent. |

Take a look at the Tranparency Plane again. White part
of the original image is turquoise (transparent) and the black lines
of the original image are blue (visible). |
| |
Get back to the Image Plane.
Paint the lines with your favorite color. The white parts are now
transparent and so protected. Color will not affect the white parts. |

I added other layers and blend them.
Because the lines are not black, the image looks warm, doesn't
it? |
